Especially for Families

The Concord Museum is family-friendly!

Family favorites include

  • "Establishing Concord" gallery where Native American stone tools and an archaeological tool kit show how we can learn about the past.
  • "Defending Concord" featuring relics of the Revolution, including a fife played on April 19, 1775 by a young boy.
  • Special treasure hunts for younger children, object searches for older children and hands-on activities in many of the galleries of the Museum engage young visitors and help them learn what a history museum is all about.
  • What did Mr. Thoreau see through his spyglass? In our new family on-line activity, look out his window and see. Then, create your own nature journal.

A year round calendar of programs for children and families includes museum story hours, nature explorations, craft and writing workshops, silhouette cutting and an annual holiday celebration of children's literature, Family Trees.
