Spear Point

Middle Archaic period, about 8,000 to 6,000 years ago; West Bedford, Massachusetts; Material: brown mottled rhyolite; Length: 8.5 cm; Adams Tolman Collection, gift of Mrs. Adams Tolman (1990). Photograph by Jeff Boudreau.

This spear point is fine example of a type known as Neville, a type which indicates the time period when Native peoples first settled the Concord area.
