Vacation Week - History Adventures!

Come by each day of April vacation week for a new history adventure!

Drop by anytime from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM to get hands-on with history through a week of different demonstrations and activities. Included with museum admission, members free, appropriate for all ages.

Tuesday: Watch closely as fiber artist Laura Hacker demonstrates how the colonists made and used dyes to color their fabric. Then make a scented sachet to take home.
Wednesday: Learn about April 19, 1775, the fateful first day of the American Revolution, and about the men and women who experienced and witnessed the battle. Become a revolutionary code breaker and take a closer look at a dispatch case used to hold messages during the American Revolution.
Thursday: Dig into the past with a simulated archaeological test pit and learn more about how the colonists and Native Americans interacted before, during, and after the American Revolution.
Friday: End the week with a bang and try your hand at tin-smithing like a historic tradesman!
Saturday: Come play like a colonial kid! Learn about colonial games and toys and make a toy of your own to take home.
